About Jason

Jason R. McLaughlin graduated cum laude from Saint Joseph’s University, where he also received a Master’s degree in experimental psychology, with a concentration in developmental psychology. His research was focused on the effects of early attachment disruptions on subsequent psychological problems. He then received a Master’s degree in social work from Bryn Mawr College, where his concentration was clinical social work practice

Mr. McLaughlin is the Chief Executive Officer of Wedge Recovery Centers, which operates seven clinics that provide outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment to thousands of Philadelphians. He has served in various roles in his two decades at Wedge, including therapist, supervisor, and executive. He started his private practice of psychotherapy in 2013 in Narberth. Mr. McLaughlin is a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Mr. McLaughlin is an advanced candidate in post-graduate training in psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia (PCOP); he is also a graduate of the PCOP Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training Program, and he is a former PCOP Fellow. He has previously served on the PCOP Board of Directors, and chairs the PCOP Housing Committee. He has served on the faculty of PCOP since 2020. Additionally, Mr. McLaughlin serves on the Board of Directors of Eagleville Hospital, which provides inpatient substance use and psychiatric treatment in Montgomery County.

Mr. McLaughlin provides individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for adolescents and adults (ages 16 and up), and specializes in the treatment of relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. He also provides clinical supervision for psychodynamically-oriented therapists.
